Our Under 9, 10, 11 and 12 hurlers had no games last week so decided to spice up their training sessions with a trip to the GAA Centre of Excellence in Abbottstown on Saturday morning.
The primary purpose of the trip was to visit and use the Ball Wall as we have no wall of our own.
A total of 60 kids were transported across town and were welcomed to the the Centre by Dublin GAA legend Ciaran Kilkenny who lead the Dublin Minor hurlers to an All-Ireland Final before focussing on the big ball and collecting multiple All-Ireland Football titles. Ciaran spoke to the kids and told them how he used to often visit Dolphin Barn with his father who was from the South Circular Road and had played with Kevins from underage to senior.
An enjoyable morning was had by all and the session was supplemented by some pizza for all the kids.
