Under 13 Camógs Through To Final!

Our girls have already done us proud by making it to the semi-final, and while it wasn’t the start we’d hoped for, it showed their resilience. Setanta scored early, keeping the upper hand for much of the first half. Kevin’s seemed a little slow to get out of the blocks, reacting to the game rather than driving it. But took their points and by halftime were only trailing by 2 points: Kevin’s 0:5, Setanta 2:1.

The second half was a different story. Kevin’s came out re-energized, hungrier and showing that determination we knew they had. They started working as one, supporting each other and finding those connections that make a team stronger. Both goalies were in top form, making crucial saves, and our midfielders fought hard to control the flow, helping to keep possession and open up chances.

Our wingers and forwards took advantage of these opportunities, sending over some brilliant points and finding the back of the net with power and precision. The defence, too, was relentless, holding off Setanta’s attempts and protecting our lead. With ten minutes to go, we had a six-point cushion—but Setanta wasn’t done yet.

Their midfield rallied, pushing forward with renewed determination, managing to bring the game within just two points. Every girl in bright blue dug deep, winning frees and working tirelessly until the final whistle blew. In the end, we clinched a well-deserved 3-point victory, with a final score of Kevin’s 2:8, Setanta 3:2.

This team has formed such a strong bond, always digging deep for each other. Huge thanks to their amazing coaches and mentors for instilling such a wonderful sense of friendship and belonging. And a big thanks to the great bunch of parents for their support! Every one of our 20 players contributed and should be proud.

Lots of happy heads after this one—bring on the final!

In other underage camogie news our Under 16 Division 4 side also topped their group this afternoon with a 2-8 to 2-1 win over Scoil Uí Chonaill and are now into the semi-finals.
