Minor Hurlers Start Championship With A Win

Well done to our Minor hurlers who took full points today in their opening championship game against O’Tooles this morning. Having been well beaten by O’Tooles in the league, Kevin’s were determined to put that right in the championship. They had the perfect start with two early goals from Declan Power and Jack Diamond. But they didn’t have it all there own way and O’Tooles were well in it at half time with 5 points between the teams. O’Tooles came out all guns blazing in the second half and fired over 3 quick fire points to trim the lead back to 2. However, Christopher Tuite had his eye in for the frees and kept the scoreboard ticking over. In the last 10 minutes, Kevin’s defended heroically and finished out the match as 4 points winners – 0-11 – 2-9. The magnificent travelling support cheered the lads over the line! Next up will be a home match against Whitehall Colmcilles on the 22nd September, followed by another home game against Ballyboden Saint Endas on the 6th October.

Kevins are playing in the Minor B Championship this year and are placed in Group 2 alongside O’Tooles, Whitehall Colmcille and Ballyboden Saint Endas.
