ECG Cardiology Screening Will take place for Kevins Hurling & Camogie Club members aged 14 & above on 14th of October 2023 at Loreto Junior School
Appointment slots are available between 8am – 5pm. All appointments must be booked in advance. The cost is covered by the club member if you wish to avail of the screening. The cost is 40e p/p & is payable via Stripe payment in advance of the screening date through the booking link below.
12 Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG) records the electrical activity of the heart. Cardiac Screening is used for early detection of cardiac abnormalities & those potentially at risk of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS). Up to two young people die from SADS each week in Ireland.
The GAA recommends that Cardiac Screening is completed once by those aged over 14 years of age and that the process be repeated before the age of 25.
The screening will be conducted by an experienced Occupational Health Nurse. All results are reviewed & reported by a Consultant Cardiologist.
The screening appointments take a maximum of 12 minutes, This gives enough time for the ECG to be conducted and for the individual to ask any questions they may have to our nurse.
