What was you highlight of 2022? Here’s some of the club activities and achievements in our 120th year to help you recap …
- 6 adult teams entered into competition across hurling (3), camogie (1) and rounders (2)
- 23 underage teams entered into competition across hurling (13), camogie (7) and rounders (3)
- Participation at our Donore Credit Union ABC Nursery and Kevin’s Heroes increased throughout 2022
- We introduced some of our underage players to handball
- A number of our younger members completed the Dermot Early Youth Leadership programme in February
- We hosted a Diversity & Inclusion Day in Loreto College in March
- We ran 3 camps this year and had record numbers at our summer camps
- We had increased participation in locally run schools blitzes
- We held the new GAA Foundation Coaching course with over 30 coaches educated
- Our kids starred on TG4 Irish language TV show C.L.U.B. in November
- We also visited New York in November and played a challenge game against the New York county squad
- We had lots of on field success winning 3 championships at under 13 camogie, under 19 hurling and mixed adult All-Ireland rounders. Our under 13 girls also won an All-Ireland Feile Shield title, which was also our first ever All-Ireland
- And for 2 lucky people, our Club Lotto Jackpot was won … twice!
We are looking forward to 2023 already where we will be celebrating 30 years of camogie in the community.
